MISSION & VALUES

Mission

The Mission of St. Peter Lutheran School is to assist parents in the training of their children through Christ-centered teaching and excellence in academic curriculum.

Parental Involvement

God has given parents the first responsibility in the training of their children. Parents select St. Peter Lutheran School to provide the additional resources and expertise needed for a complete elementary education.

Christian Education

At St. Peter Lutheran School we believe Christian education is no longer a luxury in our children’s lives -- it’s a necessity. Our goal at St. Peter is not to shelter our youth from the world in which we live today, but to train them to live effectively. This training is a cooperative effort between home and school.

Objectives

Our objectives at St. Peter are three fold: First, to assist young Christian people to grow in the Christian faith through daily study of God’s Word, devotions, Chapel services and various service projects; Second, to challenge our students with academic excellence using the Core Knowledge Sequence as our guide, and Third; to enable our students to become well rounded through physical fitness and participation in extra-curricular activities.

FAQ

What ages do you accept?

We have classes for both 3 and 4 year olds. Students may start the 3's class as soon as they turn three. They must be 4 by December 31 in order to start the 4's class or 4 by Sept. 1 to attended the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class.

Must they be potty trained?

Yes, they need to be potty trained and out of diapers.

Should we bring snacks or pack a lunch?

We provide both morning and afternoon snacks. As for lunch, full day and Extended day students may either bring lunch from home or purchase Hot Lunch through RenWeb.

What time are they released on minimum days?

Preschool release time for Minimum days is 11:40 for 1/2 day students only, Full and Extended day students schedule remains the same.

Do Preschoolers attend chapel?

Yes, they do attend our weekly chapel service and they get to lead one each year. Chapel is on Wednesdays at 8:30. Parents are always encouraged to attend.

Do we have to be Lutheran and/or attend St. Peter Church?

No, it is not a requirement. Our ministry is for all people - Lutheran & non-Lutheran, churched and unchurched. We welcome all Christian denominations and faiths.

If my child is there for nap, what will he or she need?

Each child will need a lunch and blanket or sleeping bag, We supply the nap cot.

What if my child is a 1/2 day student, but we need later care occasionally?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accomodate unplanned extended care. Our classes are typically full and extra students can cause a problem with our teacher to child ratios. Because of that, we have a peanalty for late pickup. The fine is $15.00 for every 15 minutes or part thereof after the close of session.

Can we increase our days or hours during the school year?

Yes, as long as we have space available.

Are parent volunteer hours required?

No, not for Preschool.
